Blogging Kisumu: Cirque du moto

Sitting in the back of the motocycle rickshaw (a tuk-tuk, as it is known), rumbling down a dark but paved street in Kisumu, I glanced up when the driver tapped twice on the horn. A bicycle was entering the intersection right in front of us, with a passenger sitting on the rear rack. The bicyclist sped up just as the passenger gracefully leapt off the rack and stood back, allowing the tuk-tuk to pass right in front of him.

Ladies and gentlemen, Kisumu.
